A lot of people complain that TV shows on the internet don’t have much depth or content, and that’s because of the internet’s slow connection speeds.
But what if the slow speeds aren’t the problem, but instead a lack of quality?
And that’s what some of the most popular TV shows, movies and video games, do not have, according to one TV industry expert.
“If you’ve got a TV show and it’s ‘bored’, you can expect that there are some dumb, boring things,” says TV critic Michael Cushman.
“The internet is not the same as a TV network and there are times when a TV series will have an interesting character, but it’s not going to have the depth and richness of a series from a network like HBO.”
“It’s a network’s show that is very different to what we’re used to watching.
It’s not something we’re accustomed to watching on the screen.”
So what does that mean for you, the viewer?
The TV industry is full of great content and it does seem like there are a lot of great shows out there, but the quality isn’t there.
“I would like to think that the internet can help to fix this problem,” Mr Cushon says.
“When we’re watching TV on the TV set, we’re probably being exposed to an average of two to three hours of TV a day and it just makes sense to have a good variety of content.”
“But if you look at the shows on Netflix, which are basically streaming TV, it’s a bit different.
They’re more focused on quality than quantity.”
